Helmets for Kids in Mumbai

In conjunction with Road Safety Week 2010 in India, the Western Indian Automobile Association and the FIA Foundation has donated over 800 Protec helmets to children in Mumbai on 6 January 2009.

This helmet donation and ceremony is a part of a global movement to initiate and support helmet donations and traffic safety education in the developing world called the Global Helmet Vaccine Initiative (GHVI). The FIA Foundation, in partnership with the Asia Injury Prevention Foundation and the World Bank Global Road Safety Facility are leading this initiative, which was launched as a contribution the Decade of Action on Road Safety.

The Helmets for Kids event in Mumbai signifies the first GHVI helmet event in 2010.
